Call for Nominations :

County Executive Joanne M. Mahoney and Onondaga County Department of Aging and Youth’s Project Concern are pleased to announce the Call for Nominations for this year’s Boynton Awards for outstanding efforts in fire prevention education for youth.

Chief Henry "Hank" Boynton was a firefighter with the Syracuse Fire Department from 1964 until his death in 1994. Chief Boynton was dedicated to keeping our community a safer place through fire prevention education for youth. The Boynton Award is presented annually by Project Concern during Fire Prevention Week to an individual and/or organization that exemplify the Chief's commitment, leadership, initiative and dedication to reducing the incidence of juvenile fire setting through fire prevention education for youth.

This year’s award winners will be honored at a ceremony that will take place on October 9, 2008 at 12 noon in the Banner Room of the John H. Mulroy Civic Center.
