The Onondaga County Clerk’s Office has sent ten local Civil War Flags for preservation. The flags
were stored in an oak wall case in the office for over 80
years. Three out of the five "Onondaga regiments"
are represented by these flags.
On June 14, 2002, three of the flags were return from the
preservation process. All ten flags are now in a case outside the
County Clerk’s office on the 2nd floor foyer in the
Courthouse. They are laid flat in drawers within a cabinet ready
for public viewing. If you would like to see these flags or contribute to the
preservation of the flags, please contact me or mail your contribution
to: Ann Ciarpelli, Onondaga County Clerk at 401 Montgomery
Street, Syracuse, NY 13202.
