The Misdemeanor Appointment Bureau is staffed by an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) who reviews new misdemeanor, violation and traffic offenses as they are reported to the Justice Court Bureau by the 14 Town and Village Police Departments, New York State Police, Sheriff’s Department and the other law enforcement agencies. The Walk-In ADA is responsible for issuing Victim Contact Letters, Ready for Trial Letters, Property Release Authorizations and conducting phone interviews with crime victims.

The Misdemeanor Appointment ADA also conducts Pretrial conferences with defense attorneys with a mind towards reaching a negotiated disposition of all pending charges. If successful, the ADA will give defense attorney a copy of their written recommendation and forward an original to the appropriate Court.

The Misdemeanor Appointment Bureau conducts pretrial conferences based upon request during the following hours:

Monday through Thursday - 10 AM to 12 Noon and 2:00 PM to 4:00PM
