Recall for Lead and Choking Hazards –Slipcovers for Boppyâ Nursing Pillows
The Onondaga County Health Department's Lead Poisoning Control Program is alerting parents of the following voluntary recall. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has determined that the products contain excessive levels of lead and pose a potential choking hazard.
Product Description: This recall involves velvet and boa slipcovers intended for use with the Boppy® Bare Naked nursing and support pillow.
Slipcovers recalled due to a choking hazard were sold in clear vinyl packages are labeled Boppy® Luxe in three color combinations and have the following UPC codes: Blue/Green Velvet – UPC Code 769662 30802 1; Pink/ Orange Velvet – UPC Code 769662 30801 4; Pastel Blue Velvet – UPC Code 769662 30705 5.
Slipcovers recalled due excessive levels of lead paint were sold in display boxes labeled Boppy® Soothing in four colors and have the following UPC codes: Pastel Blue "Boa" – UPC Code 769662 32544 8; Bright Pink Velvet – UPC Code 769662 32542 4; Navy Blue Velvet – UPC Code 769662 32542 4; Sage Green Velvet – UPC Code 769662 32709 1.

Young children are especially at risk for lead poisoning because they often put non-food items in their mouth. Children with lead poisoning do not look sick.
