Library's new online calendar is sortable and portable

SYRACUSE ---Onondaga County Public Library system launched a new Web-based service that allows library lovers to discover immediately what's happening at their public libraries. With EventKeeper, all ages will find there's "Something for Everyone@ your library®," the April 2005 National Library Week theme.

EventKeeper is an online calendar that allows OCPL to post events quickly and easily so that the public has immediate access to current and upcoming library events. Visiting www.onlib.org and clicking on "Events Calendar," takes you to a menu of more than 400 events happening in libraries countywide. You can search events by categories, such as story times, computer instruction, book discussions, and age groups. You can view events by day, week or month. Weekly and monthly events are presented in a pictorial format that creates printer-friendly pages for posting on a family's refrigerator. If Grandpa sees an event he thinks his grandkids would enjoy, he can even e-mail news of the event to them that day!

For parents seeking upcoming midwinter school break activities, a visit to the OCPL Web site's events calendar will reveal:
