The Rosamond Gifford Zoo has been a popular County attraction this year. According to the Onondaga County Parks Department, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo had 5,898 in attendance at the Zoo on Tuesday April 15, 2003. This figure represents a record high for daily attendance at the Zoo.
Record attendance in April was driven by the warm spring weather at a time when students in Onondaga County were on school break.
The first weekend in May proved to be another attendance high for the Zoo. Scheduled events such as the Fiesta de los Aves and an appearance by children's television program character, Dora the Explorer, contributed to the big crowds in May.
