The Syracuse Nationals has achieved international recognition in the August 2004 issue of Custom Car magazine published in England. Custom Car magazine is the UK's best selling hot rod magazine. According to Chuck Vranas writer of the Syracuse Nationals article for the magazine, the Syracuse Nationals has culminated to "one of the east coast's premier events."
The article describes Syracuse as a city "rich in automotive culture." It goes on to tell the happenings of the 2003 Syracuse Nationals sending the message that the event is more than just a car gathering. Attendees are not subject to the show alone once they've arrived in Syracuse, NY, explains Vranas. Each year, the Syracuse National planners work to create a fun-filled schedule of activities in Central New York because several attendees travel to the area before the show. Activities such as museum outings, dinner cruises, picnics, and a poker run keep the visitors entertained while building the level of excitment leading up to the main event.
The Syracuse Nationals is held at the Empire Expo Center on the New York State Fairgrounds. With over 360 acres of room to move, the grounds offered plenty of roads to cruise on, camping facilities and space to settle in for the weekend. The event includes a variety of vendors, concerts, fireworks, of course cars and much more. Huge prize and product giveaways, including a car help to keep visitors coming back to the event every year in record breaking numbers. In 2003, the event attracted more than 72,000 attendees and over 6,400 cars from all over the country and Canada.
The Syracuse Nationals is hosted by the Central New York Car Club Association. The Syracuse Nationals was held this year on July 16th, 17th and 18th and will be held again at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY on July 15th, 16th and 17th in 2005.
