 On
January 15, 2002, Probation Officer Linda Hicks was presented with
the Onondaga County Martin Luther King Jr. Public Service Award
by County Executive Nicholas J. Pirro for her outstanding work and
service to the community. In addition to her regular duties in the
Probation Department, Ms. Hicks has worked with the Syracuse Treatment
Court. She is a respected community leader known for her caring
and compassion. She is a co-team leader for the City/County Trauma
Response Team dealing particularly with those involved in gang related
shootings. Ms. Hicks is also a member of Inter-denominational Ministerial
Alliance of Syracuse 10 Points to Reduce Youth Violence, dealing
with trauma incidents.
