SALARY:

¤ Probationary rate for 1st year - $ 28,886
¤ Upon completion of 1 year - $ 32,935
¤ Current top salary - $ 36,516
¤ Pay increases after 2, 4, and 7 years of service

VACATION:

During your first year of employment, you may apply to use up to 5 days of your first year's entitlement after completion of 6 months of continuous service.

SICK LEAVE:

Sick leave credits are earned at the rate of 3.08 hours per pay period (26 pay periods per year).
(*Sick leave may not be used until completion of three months of continuous service.)

RETIREMENT:

Article 15 Retirement

You are required to contribute 3% of your gross earnings toward your retirement benefits, until the completion of 10 years of continuous service, at which time the contribution is waived. You can retire at the age of 55.

On the date of examination: ¤ Must be a citizen of the United States

On the date of appointment:

¤ Must be a resident of Onondaga County or any adjoining county
¤ Must be a high school graduate, possess a GED, or possess a U.S. Armed Forces General Education Certificate

Special Necessary Requirements:
¤ No conviction of a felony (Conviction of a misdemeanor may bar appointment.)
¤ Psychiatric and polygraph examination may be required of any successful candidate prior to appointment
