This unit develops and disseminates police information related to criminal street gang activity to members of the law enforcement community. Their duties include:

• Investigating criminal activity within Onondaga County
• Gathering information on criminal street gangs and their members in accordance with state and federal statutes
• Providing analysis of criminal street gang activity to the Custody Department to enhance facility security and staff safety within the Justice Center
• Preparing monthly meetings to discuss recent incidents and information developed on criminal street gangs and their members
• Distributing monthly briefings to the OCSO Police Department
• Coordinating an annual review of guns seized by the Sheriff's Office
