WEP occupies new facilities

by David Colbert

In April 2004, the Department of Water Environment Protection began moving into its new Environmental Laboratory and Wastewater Collection Operations Center located on Henry Clay Boulevard in Liverpool.

The Department remodeled the 50,000-square ft former Osmonics facility to consolidate three laboratory facilities and several wastewater collection groups into unified operations. In addition, the wastewater operations group has taken over management of the Plumbing Control Division which was formerly part of the Department of Health. The Henry Clay facility is also home to the North District Station of the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department.

Tours of the facility are being planned in conjunction with the Central New York Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA) and the New York Water Environment Protection Association (NYWEA). Check back with this web site to learn more.
