Ground water disposal
Occasionally, WEP accepts treated ground water as a
service to contractors. They often prefer the Onondaga
County permit to a New York State permit.
Hazardous waste sitesWEP does not accept ground water from hazardous waste sites. A certification that the site is not a listed hazardous waste site is required before WEP issues a permit. Permit requirementsDetailed procedures on the general requirements for disposal of ground water are available from WEP. See links below. However, each permit is issued on a case-by-case basis. Application process
There is no standard application form for a ground water discharge permit. Applications are generally submitted in letter format with the materials required for application as detailed in the WEP's "Procedures Governing the Acceptance and Treatment of Ground Water and Other Contaminated Wastewater."
