INTRODUCTION
The Syracuse/Onondaga County Youth Board and Bureau, a division of the Onondaga County Department of Aging & Youth, is seeking proposals for youth programs, with funding to begin January 1, 2011. Funding commitments will be for 1 to 3 years, and may be renewed through December 31, 2013.
What’s new:
The Onondaga County Department of Aging and Youth is now collaborating with Say Yes to Education to promote and support the development of school-based after school programs.
As with the last funding process, the Youth Board/Bureau will be using a multi-step process:
- Initial submission of a Concept Paper, in which agencies will outline the concept of the program for which funding is being sought. This will be done by agencies/programs currently receiving funding, as well as those seeking funding for the first time.
- Initial submission of documentation that will assist the Youth Bureau in assessing fiscal soundness of each agency seeking funding.
- Only upon invitation will agencies submit full proposals and budgets.
Funds for programming are appropriated by New York State on an annual basis. The level of funding for 2011 is anticipated to be approximately $450,000.
