Galaxy Communications Selected for Sponsorship of Lights on the Lake
Popular New Year’s Eve Event “First Night” Will Continue

Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney announced today that Galaxy Communications will sponsor Lights on Lake for a third time this year.

“Lights on the Lake is an event people look forward to every year,” said County Executive Joanie Mahoney. “It has been a pleasure working with Ed Levine and his wonderful team. Galaxy Communications is a great partner to the County and I am pleased we will continue going forward.”

For the past two years Galaxy Communications has successfully sponsored Lights on the Lake, assuming full responsibility for new initiatives, sponsorship and marketing activities while Onondaga County employees continue to be responsible for daily operations at the park.

Onondaga County Parks put out a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) in February, and Galaxy came out on top.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with both Lights on the Lake and First Night. We’re already discussing enhancements for this year’s show to make it bigger and better than ever,” said Galaxy President & CEO Ed Levine.

Through their continued success with high quality event planning and advertising, Galaxy Communications has increased the number of attendees each year. A record number of vehicles, 41,587, drove through the show in 2011. First Night CNY will also be back, ensuring a top notch family friendly New Year’s Eve event at Onondaga Lake Park.

Locally owned and operated, Galaxy Communications organizes events as diversified as Taste of Syracuse, KRockathon and The Wine and Chocolate Festival. Galaxy Communications is also the flagship station for all of Syracuse University Athletics.
