Kelly from Marcellus asks, "I hear that the 10 year agreement that Nick Pirro put in place in 1999 in which the County agreed to supplement the towns and villages with their sales tax revenue shortages will end December 31, 2009 at midnight. 1) How much has the County given yearly to the Towns and Villages? 2) Has Ms. Mahoney included this cost savings in balancing the 2010 budget?"

Theresa from Onondaga asks, "Why hasn't Onondaga County offered an early retirement incentive to employees as Oneida County has done? Oneida County already has 30 employees write letters of intent as of 9/25/09. Oneida County Executive estimates 2-3 million dollars in cost savings over 2 years. Please see Oneida County website for letter to retirement eligible employees. It seems that would be one of the first things to be considered for cost savings before layoffs and hour reductions to employees that would only reduce their spending and reduce county revenues even further."

Glenn from Liverpool asks, "I heard some talk about a sheriff helicopter. Do you think we really need this considering its cost in such a small town? I see no reason why the inner or outside agencys can't handle what few issues we have without needing to resort to something that is so expensive. The idea 'because its emergency rescue vehicle therefore its obviously necessary' ... well, that's an emotional argument that is simply used to tie in with peoples emotions. Realistically though...we just don't have the city to justify it."
