Welcome to the Onondaga County Department of Transportation
The Department’s mission is to provide managerial engineering and technical
expertise for 808 miles of County roads. The objective is to provide the
traveling public with a safe, convenient and efficient network of highways and
bridges. For the departments’ purposes, we have divided the county into four
sections. Each section has a shop and the equipment and employees to service its
roads. Each section is also capable of performing equipment maintenance. One
section is equipped to perform major repairs on the departments’ equipment. In
addition, the department has administrative and engineering offices centrally
located in the Civic Center.
