Voter Registration
The qualifications for voting in New York State are as follows:
• Be a U. S. citizen
• Be 18 years old by the date of the primary, general or other election
• Live at your present address at least 30 days before an election
• Not be in jail or on parole for a felony conviction and
• Not claim the right to vote elsewhere

Primary Election

Last day to postmark an application to be eligible to vote in the Primary Election
IN PERSON REGISTRATION Secs. 5-210, 5-211, 5-212
Aug 16
Last day to register at your local board of elections or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act, to be eligible to vote in the Primary Election
General Election

Oct. 11 Last day to postmark an application to be eligible to vote in the General Election
IN PERSON REGISTRATION Secs. 5-210, 5-211, 5-212
Oct. 11 Last day to register at your local board of elections or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act, to be eligible to vote in the General Election
Oct. 25 Last day to register in person at the Board of Elections if you have been honorably discharged from the military, became a naturalized citizen or are a registered voter who has moved within the county after October 11
