The City of Syracuse Department of Engineering is currently accepting applications for the position of:
Location: City of Syracuse Department of Engineering
Hours of work: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
This is responsible administrative and technical work involving the application of engineering principles and practices to insure that public facilities are designed, constructed, renovated and maintained and managed in a safe, environmentally healthy and cost effective manner. The employee in this class exercises considerable independent judgement in making recommendations and decisions to resolve engineering problems in a variety of governmental facilities.
A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Baccalaureate Degree in one of the following engineering fields: Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Technology or a closely related field and two (2) years of work experience, or its part time equivalent, involving the application of methods, principles and practices in the area of building engineering, structural design, HVAC engineering, or electrical engineering; or,
B) Seven (7) years of work experience, or its part-time equivalent, in one of the following areas: engineering, HVAC design, construction or a closely related field, two (2) years of which must have involved the application of methods, principles and practices in the area of building engineering, structural design, HVAC engineering, or electrical engineering.
Current and continued residency in the City of Syracuse is a necessary requirement.
