The work involves responsibility for running errands and performing simple clerical and other manual tasks in connection with an office. The work is routine in nature and may involve carrying heavy packages or folders. An employee in this class typically exercises no supervision over subordinate employees. Messengers have frequent face to face oral communications in picking up and delivering materials. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
Collects and distributes incoming and outgoing written materials and packages.
Delivers messages, records, office supplies, and like materials according to specific instructions.
Performs light to moderately heavy manual laboring tasks related to the operation of the office.
