County Continues Outreach for Veterans’ Discount Program

FAVOR Card now available for issue at all Onondaga County Town Clerk’s Offices.
Syracuse, NY- Onondaga County Clerk Ann Ciarpelli and County Veterans Services Director Robert McLean have announced that the FAVOR Card is now available for issue at all Onondaga County Town Clerk’s Offices as well as the County Clerk's office downtown. The move is designed to make it more convenient for Veterans to apply for the card. Veterans are encouraged to call their respective Town Clerk's office to check for issue times etc. The FAVOR Card is a county-wide, year round program designed to recognize and thank our county’s more than 31,000 military Veterans for their sacrifices and service to our country.
As part of the program, eligible county residents are issued an I.D. card by the County Clerk’s and Town Clerk’s offices identifying them as a qualified honorably discharged Veteran of any of the U.S. Armed Forces. A copy of the Veteran’s discharge or DD 214 is required.
Participating county merchants have agreed to honor the card by providing these Veterans with discounts on purchases and services, or some other special offer. There is no cost to participate in the program for either businesses or Veterans. Veterans

FAVOR is a joint project of the County Clerks Office, Onondaga County Veterans Service Agency, the Veterans Advisory Committee of the County Legislature and the Onondaga County Town Clerk's.
