Eligibility for P2 awards
Industrial achievement award
The Industrial Achievement Award program recognizes
industries that maintain 100% compliance with the
terms and conditions of their Onondaga County
Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permits.
Any company with an active Onondaga County Industrial
Wastewater Discharge Permit is eligible for the award.
Receipt, of course, depends on the company's
maintaining 100% compliance with all permit conditions
for the calendar year.
P2 award
The Pollution Prevention Award is given annually to a
company that implements measures that significantly
reduce waste, resources, and costs. Feedback from this
program has been overwhelmingly positive.
Any company with an active Onondaga County Industrial
Wastewater Discharge Permit is eligible for the award.
100% compliance is not required for receipt of the
Pollution Prevention Award. However, the company must
have implemented a system that resulted in measurable
reductions in waste, resources, or costs. A wastewater
component to the project is preferable but not
required.
Application process
Applications are informal; a letter or project summary
are acceptable. An inspection may be conducted to
verify the project description.
