District Heating & Cooling Plant Project energy savings could power 116
and heat 667 CNY homes annually
| Civic Center is 95% complete (scheduled for completion in first quarter of 2007), the District Heating and Cooling Plant is 90% complete (scheduled for completion in first quarter of 2007), the District Heating and Cooling Plant Boiler Replacement is 25% complete (anticipated completion in second quarter of 2007), and the War Memorial project is 80% complete (scheduled for completion in first quarter of 2007). Projected annual savings is 0.7 million kilowatt hours of electricity, and 1.0 million therms of natural gas. Annual savings of 0.5% in total electricity usage and a 22.2% reduction in total natural gas usage of County-owned facilities. At average prices of $0.098/kilowatt hour and $0.8504/therm approximately $919,000 is saved annually. Electricity saved could power 116 and heat 667 CNY homes annually. |
