Technical Rope Rescue Team
The mission of the Technical Rescue Group is to provide specially trained and equipped personnel capable of handling a technical rescue at any incident that would need such expertise.
The primary responsibility of the Technical Rope Rescue Group is the rescue of victims from locations unreachable by standard fire department equipment, utilizing rope and rope accessories.
This can involve situations requiring rescue from high-rise buildings, construction sites, water towers, communication towers, cliffs and steep hillsides, and sub-ground level locations.
Group members are trained to a minimum of Rope Rescue Technician 1 with certification current to within six months of joining the Technical Rescue Group.
Group members participate in monthly drills and regular training to maintain technical skills. Equipment is inspected annually. |
