Did you know that there is a better way to wash your car? If you wash your car in your driveway, and the water runs into one of the storm drains in the road, it is most likely going right into a stream, river or lake without any treatment. Would you want to drink the dirty, soapy water that comes off your car? Neither do fish.
What can I do?
• Wash your car in your yard. The grass will act like a treatment system for the dirty soapy water, and be encouraged to grow.
• Use a commercial car wash. Car washes are very efficient when it comes to using water, and most are connected to wastewater treatment plants.
