Forensic Transition Services:
Forensic Transition Services is a voluntary program that aims to provide assistance to individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who are returning to Onondaga County from state prison. Referrals are received from state prisons with collaboration from OMH CNYPC pre-release coordinators, community service providers and parole. The goal of the Forensic Transition Program is to facilitate the transition of individuals back to the community and provide ongoing coordination to support successful post release.
CPL Article 730 Examinations:
Onondaga County Department of Children and Family Services, Division of Adult Mental Health Services is responsible for coordination and completion of community based CPL Article 730 Examinations ordered by the courts within Onondaga County for defendants released into the community.
