Account Clerk 1
In this position, you will be responsible for specialized clerical work, such as keeping various financial records and accounts and/or assisting in performing more difficult phases of the work.
Minimum Qualifications:

-One (1) year of full-time work experience,or its part time equivalent, which must include as a regularly occurring function of some financial account keeping duties such as, reconciling bank statements, posting to ledgers, making entries to journals or checking vouchers or purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.

 

-Successful completion of three (3)  semester credit hours in college level Accounting from a regionally accredited of New York State registered college, university, or business school.

Employment Counselor 1
This position provides intake, assessment, case management, job seach preparation, and/or post-employment follow up services to Temporary Assistance applicants and recipients. You will work with a diverse population individually and in groups to develop employability plans and restoration to self-suffiency plans depending on individual circumstances impacting their employabillity status.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or universitt with a Baccalaureate Degree in sociology, psyhcology, social work, human resources, business or labor/industrial relations, or a closely related field, and one (1) year of professional level work experience, or its part time equivalent, providing direct service to educationally and/or poor individuals

OR

-Five (5) years of full time paraprofessional or professional level work experience, one (1) year of which must have been professional level work experience as defined above.

Income Maintenance Worker
This position is responsible for determining financial and categorical eligibility for a variety of programs administered by the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Two (2) years of work experience, or its part time equivalent, in examining, investigation, or evaluating claims for assistance, veterans, or unemployment benefits, insurance or a similar program operating under an established criteria for eligibility which must have included determining eligibility for such benefits and authorizing such benefits where appropriate.

In this position, you will be responsible for entry-level gathering and verifying case-related facts. The work involves telephoning, emailing, checking records, interviewing clients or others, and preparing required forms and records.

1. Investigative or collection work involving public contact

2. Income maintenance or related work involving examining, evaluating, or investigating of claims for assistance

3. Paralegal work involving preparation of petitions or contact with local courts
